Butler Community College announced the suspension of in-person classes March 13. Both Andover and El Dorado Libraries locations will be closed to the public, students, and faculty until further notice.

While our physical locations are not available, Butler Libraries will continue to provide the services and resources listed on this page.
Chat service will be available Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Several resources are available online for research materials and can be accessed remotely. Some resources will require users to log in with their Butler ID and password.
Interlibrary Loan and the check-out of physical resources is NOT currently available due to the closure of the library – and many of our peer libraries. This may change and we will update this link if it does.
Librarians and staff are available by email (email@example.com) or chat to answer research questions or to provide help with using online resources. Chat services will be available Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For general questions, use our Ask A Librarian service. Research questions can also be answered via Zoom from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, request information via chat or email.
Research Guides https://butlercc.libguides.com/?b=g&d=a are also available. These guides are divided by subject and can help you navigate the best ways to find articles and research related to your class.
Librarians will continue to provide teaching support by collaborating with instructors. We feel it is especially important during this time of change that instructors encourage their students to reach out to the Libraries for research help. Although each of our libraries are closed, you are welcome to return items to us at our El Dorado book drop (located in the west parking lot entrance) or by mailing the item to us at Library, 901 S. Haverhill Road, El Dorado KS 67042. Ask for media mail rate. We are extending the check-out period through April 15 for all materials currently checked out, except for items due on or before March 13.
Butler materials: If you have a Butler item that is due, but you are not able to return it to us prior to the due date, you should try to renew that item via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org so we can make accommodations.
Interlibrary Loans: If you have an Interlibrary Loan item that is due, but you are not able to return it to us prior to the due date, please e-mail email@example.com so we can make accommodations.
Overdue items: All items must be returned prior to completing your course of study at Butler or replacement costs will be placed on your account.
