We Preserve the History of the College in the Archives

El Dorado Junior College was founded in 1927. The college name has evolved over the years: Butler County Junior College, Butler County Community Junior College, Butler County Community College (BCCC), then finally to its current name of Butler Community College. The Archives accept collections of rare and unique materials specific to the college. Some materials may be more sentimental than of historical value, so we recommend keeping them; we can help donors distinguish between the two.

The Archives collect official records of the college, papers of individuals connected with the college, and materials that show college life. All types of records are considered for addition to the Archive regardless of medium, depending on ability to read or preserve the record.

We welcome offers to donate your familial or personal records to enrich the coverage of the college and will review it with you. We will try to include as much of your items as we can, but our mission, space, and staff constraints mean we may recommend another repository. If your donations are accepted, we require a Deed of Gift upon transfer. We do not accept material on loan.
