Citations are a very important step of the research process. You want to make sure that you give credit when you use the words or ideas from your sources in your essay. For this paper, you will be using the MLA citation style. You will also be saving your sources in a citation manager called NoodleTools. NoodleTools is very useful because it will help you save your sources, create your citations, and create your Works Cited page for you.
Before you start searching for sources, make sure that your NoodleTools project has been setup and shared with your instructor.
If you need to login or create a new project in NoodleTools, take a look at this video.

Most library databases will allow you to directly export your citations into NoodleTools. This will save you time and it also saves a permanent link back to your source. For examples of how this works, watch these videos:
Other library databases, like Britannica Academic Edition and The PBS Video Collection, do not directly export into NoodleTools. However, they do create citations that you can copy and paste into NoodleTools. This is called using quick cite. The video below will give you an example of how this works.
