Using EBSCO to Find Scholarly Articles

1. Start by going to butlercc.edu/libraries, then click on the gold bar that reads "Articles & Databases." Select "EBSCO Academic Search Premier" and enter in your topic/keywords.

2. Use the Limit To menu on the left to select "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals" and "Full Text".

3. Scroll down and select "Academic Journals" under Limit by Source Type.

4. Once you have found an article, check under Publication Type to make sure it says "Journal Article". This will also tell you what type of article you are seeing.

5. To read the article, either scroll down or look for the "HTML Full Text" or "PDF Full Text" buttons on the far left of the page. We recommend the PDF as it will show the article with proper page numbers.

6. On the far right of the page, you should see a light yellow paper icon. This is the "Cite" button which will generate citations for your article in many different citation styles.
