Instructors can see their student's sources in NoodleTools, comment on them, and upload files or links so students can access resources related to their course directly in NoodleTools. To access these features, instructors will need to create a Project Inbox, or a folder where students can share their projects with you. We recommend you create separate Inboxes for each class. Once created, students can search for your Inbox by its name and share their projects with you.
In the tabs below, you will find video tutorials and written instructions on how to:
Step 1: Click "Inboxes" on the lefthand menu.
Step 2: Click "New Inbox" on the top right.
Step 3: Give your Inbox a Name. We recommend including the semester, CRN, and class name as this is what students will use to find your Inbox.
Step 4: Optionally, you can make links to resources available to students in your Inbox by using the Links Box.
Step 5: Optionally, you can modify the instructions students will see when they create notecards for their sources.
Step 6: Click "Submit" once you are finished with all the changes.
Step 1: Have students hover their mouse over their project. Under "Sharing", they should now see a plus symbol, click on it.
Step 2: The "Sharing" window will open allowing students to click "+Share" If students would like to share their projects with other students, they can click "+Student" and type in the full Butler email of the student they would like to share their project with.
Step 3: Students can now search for your Inbox with the name you assigned for their class. Once selected, click "Done".
When done correctly, students should now see an icon with your initials under their "Sharing" section.
Once a student has been added to your Project Inbox, you can add comments to their sources in NoodleTools. This creates a "To-Do" item for them that they can then switch to "Done" once they have fixed their mistakes. "To-Do" items appear as red numbers next to their Inbox icon on their homepage. Students can also message you back in the comments to ask for clarification, or to give you more information.
NoodleTools does not give you email notifications if students are messaging you in the comments. You will need to login to NoodleTools to see their messages.
