Podcasts

A general guide to podcasting at Butler CC.

Audacity

Audacity is a free digital audio editor that needs to be downloaded to a computer. It can be used for recording and editing audio. It is not as powerful a tool as Adobe Audition, but it does allow you to work with multiple tracks.

You can download Audacity at audacityteam.org

Tutorials for Audacity can be found here: Audacity Support

Adobe Podcasts (Beta)

Adobe Podcast (beta) is Adobe's new AI-powered audio recording and editing platform. Be aware that it is still in beta- meaning it is still being developed and all features are not fully functional at this time.

It can be accessed at podcast.adobe.com. As an Adobe Creative Campus, Butler users should be able to access all features of this web-based tool.

Key Features

Mic CheckAllows users to check their microphone setup and make adjustments before they being recording.

Enhance Speech: Users can upload audio files and it will remove background noise and echo, making the recording sound professional without any manual editing.

Studio:  Users can record, edit, and enhance their audio within the Internet browser. It provides a transcription of your recording that allows you to edit the audio file like you would a text document.

Adobe Audition

Adobe Audition allows users to record, edit, and mix audio for podcasts and videos. It is a powerful editing tool that allows you to work with multiple audio files or tracks.

Adobe Audition does require a subscription. Students enrolled in certain programs at Butler will have access to Audition.
