Disability Accomodations

Butler Community College provides accommodations for students who need temporary or permanent assistance through Disability Services. Some, but not all, of the accommodations that Disability Services provide include:

  • Providing letters to faculty stating your required accommodations
  • Extended time for tests*
  • Readers or scribes for tests*
  • Notetakers
  • Alternate text formats
  • Registration assistance
  • Interpreters for the hearing impaired
  • Accessibility information
  • Proofreading and writing support
  • Tutoring
  • Coordination with instructors
  • Placement testing*

*Accommodations for placement testing or tests administered in a classroom require documentation to be sent to Disability Services before the date on which the test is scheduled. Failure to provide documentation of a disability may not be accepted as valid reason to retake a test.
