Chicago Citation Guide

General Information - Websites

  • For websites, a formal citation often isn't needed. Rather, a simple description of the webpage and its content is sufficient enough. However, if the formal citation is needed, use the format(s) below. 
  • For sources where no date is provided, write "n.d." in place of the year in the citation and include an access date.

Author, Owner, or Publisher of the website. Year. "Title of Page." Title of Website. Date of Access or Last Modified date. URL.

  • For publications issued by an organizations, corporation, or association that have no listed author, the orgnization may be used in place of the author's name.
